PayPal

Let customers pay from their PayPal balance or linked methods through your own PayPal business account.

How it works#

PayPal appears as its own tile on the checkout whenever it is enabled and the checkout is fiat-denominated. Choosing it redirects the buyer to PayPal's hosted payment page; when PayPal confirms, the transaction completes automatically.

  • Payments are verified through PayPal's IPN callback, validated back against PayPal's servers - spoofed notifications are rejected
  • Pending e-checks are accepted and tracked; cancellations and failures never mark paid
  • The buyer's PayPal id and email are appended to the transaction for your records
  • Funds go to your PayPal account; U.CASH never touches them

Setup#

  1. Open Settings → Processors/Gateways (requires the processors permission)
  2. Enter your PayPal business email under PayPal
  3. Turn PayPal active on
  4. Optional: enable sandbox and use a sandbox business email to test end to end without real money

That is the whole configuration - there are no API keys to generate. The notification endpoint is operated by U.CASH and already pointed at your account.

At checkout#

  • PayPal gets a dedicated tile separate from the card tile
  • The buyer is redirected to PayPal, pays, and returns to your redirect URL
  • Card-brand payments inside PayPal follow PayPal's own rules; the U.CASH card tile (Stripe or 2Checkout) is the direct card rail
  • PayPal is hidden on crypto-denominated checkouts, like every fiat rail

Good to know

  • PayPal fees are PayPal's own - U.CASH does not add a processor surcharge beyond your plan's fees
  • Refunds are issued from your PayPal dashboard; the U.CASH transaction records the original payment
  • Supported currencies follow your PayPal account's settings
