Accept credit and debit card payments alongside cryptocurrency using Stripe integration.
What is Stripe Integration?#
Stripe integration allows you to offer traditional payment methods (credit cards, debit cards) alongside cryptocurrency payments. This gives your customers maximum flexibility in how they pay.

Setup Configuration#
Step 1: Get Stripe API Keys
- Log in to your Stripe Dashboard
- Navigate to Developers → API keys
- Copy your Secret key (starts with
sk_live_for live,sk_test_for test) - Find or create your Product ID for pricing
Step 2: Configure in U.CASH
- Navigate to Settings → Stripe
- Check Active to enable Stripe
- Optionally enable Stripe Tax for automatic tax calculation
- Enter your Secret key
- Enter your Product ID
- Save your settings
ℹ️ Test Mode: Use your test API keys (
sk_test_...) during development to process test payments without real charges.
Stripe Tax Integration#
Enable Stripe Tax to automatically calculate and collect sales tax based on customer location.
Benefits
- Automatic tax calculation for 50+ countries
- Handles tax nexus and thresholds
- Generates tax reports
- Files tax returns (additional fees apply)
Configuration
- In U.CASH Stripe settings, check Stripe Tax
- In your Stripe Dashboard, enable Stripe Tax for your account
- Configure tax registration in Stripe settings
- Tax will be automatically calculated at checkout
⚠️ Note: Stripe Tax requires a paid Stripe account and may have additional fees per transaction.
Checkout Flow#
When both cryptocurrency and Stripe are enabled, customers can choose their preferred payment method.
Payment Options Display
- Customer selects products and proceeds to checkout
- Payment form displays cryptocurrency options (BTC, ETH, etc.)
- Stripe card payment option is also available
- Customer selects their preferred payment method
- Checkout continues with selected method
Payment Processing
- Cryptocurrency: Standard crypto payment flow
- Card Payment: Stripe checkout popup appears
- Both methods update order status upon completion
Testing Your Integration#
Stripe Test Mode
Use Stripe's test mode to simulate card payments:
- Use test API keys (
sk_test_...) - Test card number:
4242 4242 4242 4242 - Any future expiry date (e.g., 12/34)
- Any CVC (3 digits)
- Any postal code

Fees and Pricing#
Stripe Fees
- Standard Stripe processing fees apply
- Typically 2.9% + $0.30 per card transaction
- International cards may have higher fees
- Check Stripe pricing for current rates
Stripe Tax Fees
- Additional fee per transaction where tax is calculated
- Filing and remittance fees may apply

U.CASH Fees
- Standard U.CASH platform fees still apply
- Cryptocurrency payments processed separately
- No additional U.CASH fees for Stripe transactions
Troubleshooting#
Stripe Not Showing at Checkout
- Verify Stripe is set to Active
- Check API key is correct (starts with
sk_) - Ensure Product ID is valid in your Stripe account
- Check browser console for JavaScript errors
Payment Failures
- Verify test vs live mode matches your API key
- Check card details are valid
- Review Stripe Dashboard for payment attempts
- Ensure webhook endpoints are configured in Stripe
Tax Not Calculating
- Confirm Stripe Tax is enabled in U.CASH settings
- Verify Stripe Tax is activated in your Stripe account
- Check tax registration is complete in Stripe
- Ensure customer location is being detected
Security Best Practices#
- Never expose secret keys in client-side code
- Use environment variables for API keys in production
- Rotate keys regularly and invalidate old ones
- Monitor logs for unusual activity
- Use HTTPS for all checkout pages
- Keep Stripe webhook secret secure for verification
- Test in test mode before going live
